Yes, I believe Vinylux Weekly Polish has changed the future of nail polishes, no more sitting around impatiently waiting for your nails to dry, it’s a fantastic improvement from the traditional nail polishes that we have been used to.
But since first using it I have discovered that it tends to dry out your nail bed a little, especially older women. I was actually kind of embarrassed to be honest because I have promoted this product at work.
I have found that it leaves white marks on your nails that can only be buffed out or grown out. Unfortunately the more you buff your nails the weaker they become . These white marks need to be grown out.
Vinylux is perfect for special occasions but I would suggest taking a break , or even using a nail conditioner in between uses.
There is no base coat needed when using Vinylux, it adheres directly onto your natural nail. The drying agents in Vinylux polish are obviously quite harsh on the older generation.
The older you are the more likely you are already suffering from dry nails and ridges and with Vinylux on top of that it could add to the problem. So you would have to be aware of that when using Vinylux.
I have tried using Vinylux with a base coat and it seems to adhere perfectly.
The application of Vinylux is exactly the same as normal polishes accept it is recommended to have a clean oil free surface when you apply. Which is recommended when applying any nail polishes, otherwise the polish just peels straight off.
After cleansing your nail beds apply two coats of your favorite Vinylux shade and then finish off with one coat of the vinylux top coat.
You will be ready to walk out the door only 8 – 9 minutes after application. That’s right, 8 – 9 minutes drying time, unlike traditional nail polishes that seem to take hours to dry properly. This is one the best advantages of using Vinylux, and endurance is heightened when Vinylux is exposed to natural light helping create a longer lasting finish.
Vinylux nail polishes are hard wearing and have been designed to last up to 7 days, which is why it is called The Weekly Polish, depending on your profession or lifestyle.
For example if you love being out in the garden on a regular basis or employed as a housemaid then this product will not last the week, but if you are working in retail, sales, office work, the kinds of job that are more gentle on your hands, then I think you would love Vinylux.
Another great bonus with Vinylux is there is no chipping, it wears away at the tip of your nail bed over time.
One of the greatest benefits of Vinylux Nail Polish is it can be used in the comfort of your own home, just like normal nail polishes. Going to the nail salon is a luxury and let’s face it, we all like to be pampered now and again but Vinylux will allow you to maintain beautiful looking nails in between visits. Even if it cuts down on your fortnightly manicure costs you are ahead.
Have you ever wondered why your polish has peeled off that same afternoon or the very next day?
Preparation is the most important thing you need to be aware of before applying any polish, including Vinylux. You must always make sure there is no oily residues left on your nail beds. To help remove this residue I use a product called Scrub Fresh. This will help any polish adhere to your natural nails better and will cleanse the nail perfectly.
Scrub fresh contains roughly 3 parts alcohol and 1 part acetone and is specifically used as a sanitizer, leaving a nice clean oil free surface for Vinylux to adhere to.
Step 1. Make sure your nails are cleansed of any oily residue.
Step 2. Apply two coats of your favorite Vinylux shade.
Step 3. Apply one coat of Vinylux Top Coat
Try using Vinylux on your toe nails, you will be amazed at how long it lasts. I only wear Vinylux polishes on my toe nails now and when I am doing pedicures at work that’s all I use on my clients.
My clients love it because they get to walk out of the salon with their shoes on!! I will easily get six weeks out of my pedicures.
There are now over 60 shades of Vinylux, so lots to choose from, and there are new shades coming out all the time to keep up with the latest fashion trends.
My clients love Vinylux Weekly Polish simply because of its drying time, they can race off and get on with their day without the worry of chipping or bumping their nails.
My worry is that over long periods of time wearing Vinylux that it may dry out your nail bed, so I recommend using it with a hydrating nail treatment in between uses.
If you are suffering from dry nails anyway, which most of us do due to harsh chemicals and your day to day routine I suggest getting hold of a nail conditioner to prevent your nails from peeling or chipping.
Don’t forget that you do need to use the Vinylux Top if you use Vinylux for best results, these are to be used together.
I hope my Vinylux Nail Polish Review has helped you make a decision and happy painting!!
